The Little Toot is the only Dolphin Boat that can go into the shallows of Clearwater Bay as well as the Gulf of Mexico (weather permitting) to ensure more dolphin sightings and more frequent and better dolphin contact. Because of our tugboat shape and power, we can create a huge wake. A wake the dolphins cannot refuse and love to jump and play in.
Soft drinks, bottled water, wine and beer are available for purchase.. There is a restroom aboard for your convenience.
The great thing about the Little Toot is that it is US Coast Guard certified and inspected allowing it to go out into the Gulf of Mexico and in the Harbor. Most vessels of our size and freeboard (distance to the water) are restricted to only travel in the inner-coastal waterways. The Little Toot is certified to travel up to 3 miles off-shore and in the inner-coastal waterways enabling us to locate the dolphin in all of their natural habitats. You will surely have a memorable trip on our famous tug boat. The little Toot is safe for all ages, with higher than required safety netting, plenty of seats.
Recently we’ve commissioned a newer, bigger “Little Toot.” Built from scratch, the new Little Toot II fits 55 passengers, DOUBLE the amount of the original Little Toot. Though you can now bring even more of your friend along, you’ll still be able to get just as close to nearby dolphins as always.
We are a family owned and operated business and take great pride in all of our captains and mates. All of our captains are US coast guard licensed and drug tested. All of the staff on the Little Toot are certified in first aid and CPR. All of our great crew has been with us for many years and has even more years of boating experience.
The Little Toots dolphin adventure begins at Clearwater marina and heads out for a 1 hour to 1&1/2 hour narrated tour starting in Clearwater harbor. Throughout the tour we tell you some interesting facts about our favorite marine mammal, the bottlenose dolphin. We continue down the inner-coastal showing our guess the celebrity homes in the area, the whole time keeping an eye out for dolphins. We then end up heading under Sand Key Bridge and through Clearwater pass into the Gulf of Mexico before heading back into port. The tour is very interactive and there is never a dull moment. Children of all ages enjoy the different aspects that the tour brings, whether clapping as wild dolphins jump and play in the boat’s wake just a few feet away or learning about the mother dolphin and her calf swimming by.
